Love on the Net is a fascinating in-depth journey into the cyber dating world of which I knew little. Author Nicole Alexander takes a new direction in relationship books by focusing on herself and her quest for true love with an honest and heartfelt examination of the ever-increasing world of cyber dating,.

Based almost totally on her experiences the reader becomes almost intimate with Alexander's relationships, many of which are simply unbelievable yet true as no writer could make up the men she has fallen for, nearly fallen for or left. Using razor-sharp wit and humor, Alexander introduces us by individual chapters to a handful of her most interesting cyber dates. While half of the book concentrates on her life, the other half is a virtual guide to both men and women who surf these websites looking for love.

Alexander's story takes a neat turn when she creates the Ask the Cyber Love Muse site where hundreds of men begin to spill out their feelings and uncertainties about women and dating. The author takes no sides, being remarkably insightful of her own mistakes as well as the red flags she aptly describes then ironically follows up with her own disregard for them.

She also deals with the dark side of internet dating and follows it with serious rules and regulations. The book is divided into her own stories and her cyber rules, which include such topics as how internet dating works, how to survive it, how to read between the lines, and my favorite, how the "other side" thinks.

Great collection.

This is a great collection of poems from a talented young writer. I stumbled across one of her poems online and immediately sought out her chapbook here. Warsan Shire's writing is elegant, powerful, and makes me uncomfortable in the best ways. On rare occasions, I find art that fills me up. Sometimes, it is with rage, at others it is with guilt, or joy, or inspiration. This is one of those books that makes me feel. All of those things. And more. Read this book. Read these poems.

I read this far too quickly, I was eager. I suggest you, next reader, take it slowly, savour it.

Her words come from a place of visceral, raw emotion.

It's quiet at times, loud in others. It carries an uncompromising honesty.

I couldn't keep it in my possession, I had to share it, I gave it to someone else who could be transported as I was.

Haunting.

This book is great!

The book feels super thick and might elicit grunts and groans from those writing term papers on expressionist film, but never fear! This thickness is due to a plethora of film stills. Often times covering an entire spread. The text is also indented significantly (making adequate space for jotting notes and the like) so really, it's probably less than half of the thickness of mere text content.

The way it is organized and arranged might benefit from a bit of tweaking, but I've read a fair amount of the film movement and time period... It's hard to write a simple timeline from point A to point B. Lot's of stuff happened in Weimar Berlin and there are lots of tangents that lead to other tangents, and these all need to be readily discussed for an acute understanding of expressionism. What this book seems to do is try and cover the major shifts in the movement and then sub-categorize certain films and artists within that movement. It will often reference artists and films in later chapters, so given that it reads more like a novel than a text book. I suppose that many texts will reference earlier facts in the text, and I found that I could jump around a bit and skip the sections of the text that spoke about films I hadn't yet seen.

I found it to be a fairly easy read. The author does a good job of presenting a thought in the first paragraph and then concluding it in the last paragraph. The first few paragraphs in each section will present a very good summary with interesting thesis' about the work or the period of time. (if your paper is due tomorrow and you read only these portions of the text, you might get away with it)

Underline passages, jot down notes. I'm sure the book was intended for as much. You'll find it super helpful when you have yourself placed before the foreboding glow of your computer screen and need to go back to areas of the text to write about. A very helpful and inciteful book.

Hit the spot

I needed my fix and got it. This is an older revision than what is at SOTIC now, but still all relevant and useful. It covers basic marksmanship, Ammunition, TD, Range E, mil sketch, range cards, and a lot more advanced skills, mission planning, employment, and applications of snipers and spotters than your basic US Army Sniper FM. This goes perfectly with the rest of my manuals: SEAL course, Marine Scout Sniper, US Army FM 23-10, and SEO. If you like fieldcraft, want more advanced concepts of sniper employment, interested in SO missions, like to shoot, been to SOTIC or ever wanted to go: Buy this book. You will not be sorry. The appendixes alone are awesome, great for making copies for the ol' range book.

Good information but very poorly laid out for free stuff

This manual contains valid and useful information but is very poorly laid out. The table of contents and the index contain not one single page listing, Duh! Additionally all the figures are at the end of the chapter, hand drawn, hand written figure numbers or just plan missing. But the kicker is this and most of the sniper/target interdiction books are available in pdf format for free. Contact me at my email address. This is so typcial of the publishers Paladin Press, Delta Press, etc.

This is THE best book on the subject with the USMC S/S manual only half a step behind. SOTIC contains a more thorough review of mechanics, ballistics calculation and trajectory theory. As for the gentleman who wrote a review on 26 April 2000"The real deal folks", I agree with his thoughts on the book. However, Mr. A Reader, I would appreciate you telling me and the world what "sniper" team you operated with in the Special Forces- being that there are no sniper teams in the organizational echelon. You must be thinking of the USMC. There are however SOTIC trained individuals(usually 18B) who can collaborate with the A team(s) and/or operate independently. If you were in fact on an A/B/C TEAM, what might that teams organizational designation be? One more bit of information for all of you RESPECTFUL enthusiasts of Special Operations: the SF, SEAL's, PJ's, or any other USSOCOM units are not considered "black organizations".

A combination of primary and secondary research has been applied in order to examine the topic, achieve the objectives and test the hypotheses. For the primary research, a survey was carried out at the site of Silves in Portugal, whereby altogether 196 valid surveys were obtained.
